Hi guys, whats up?
I am very busy at the moment.
I produce my next DVD for the german market.
Today i have a picture for you
I am sure you ll like it
I did the pictures on my last trip to florida, when i was at kelbytraining.com
Have fun with the todays blogpost
In January i was in Florida at kelbytraing.com to produce five classes for you. When i was there the videocrew asked me to take pictures of them for a collage.
I can tell you, these guys doing a amazing job. Very cool and professional. Here are all the pictures what i did for the team.
I took all the pictures on a grey background. Then i added the color and the lightspot behind the models. Do you like to know how i did that?
I like to tell you a secret (please dont tell that Matt or Scott).
I did a class about that style where i explain everything. The lighting, all the camera settings and of course the retouching.
And belive me….. its sooooo easy to do it.
And my model for this class was ……tatatatata…… MATT KLOSKOWSKI!!!!!!!
Please don´t ask me about the release of this class. Maybe in some weeks, maybe in some months. But you will see it at kelbytraining.com. And right there you can find much more great instructors. It´s worth the price!!!!!
Your germany guy

Hi Calvin,
Look forward to seeing this new course when it goes live on the Kelby training website. Have been a fan of your work since your guest spots on Photoshop User TV and on Glyn Dewis’ blog.
Looking forward to (possibly) seeing you when you’re over here in London.
Alles gute!
Hey Calvin…nice training with Kelby. I have a question. With so many “grey” backgrounds out there…smoke grey slate grey etc. Which “grey” color background works the best for background replacing?
Thanks
A darker grey:-)
I dont know all the names. Sorry.
If you have a lighter grey take care that the bg dont get to much light

Hi Calvin
I just watched your first course over at Kelby Training. I loved it. You were easy to watch and understand (even for my Aussie accent!). Can’t wait for the other courses to come out – look forward to watching them.
Cheers
Irene
Herr Hollywood, entschuldigen sie bitter, mein Deutsch ist nich gut, LOL watched your tutorial at kelbytraining.com, love it !!
Hey, Calvin! Just caught your Kelby session on the the gritty look last night. So glad I found you, as my work was getting a bit stagnant. You are a great teacher as well as image maker. I will be watching your work now. Thanks so much!
Seems like someone copied Jill Greenbergss idea!

Do you really think Jill is the founder of the three light set up with a spot behind the model? LOL
lg Calvin
Lol. That’s not what I said! The way you shoot the pictures and the way you postproducted them ist very similar to Jills method, who btw IS the founder of this technique!
The way i shoot the pictures is absoltly diffrent cause this is a compositing.
The way how i postproducted them is absolutly diffrent.
What is the same is the three light set up and the spot in the background.
Thats typicall advertisment and jill was the person who made the style popular, but shes not the founder.
We are photographers and retouchers, no founders. You CANT create a new idea.

Hi Calvin, could you create small tutorial about how you create background in this photos.
I remember that some time ago you have webinar about this king od photos (you use then pictures of yours children) but i have problems with connections and can’t watch what you’re doing.
I remember that you doing photos on grey background, and then do some magic in PS.
