I just saw a few minutes of the class but what i saw was great. I dont like to clap my own shoulder, i just like to say that the kelby-team did a great job!!!!!!

Cool!!! been waiting for it. Bought the book Calvinize. Awesome stuff yeah!! have yet to watch the dvd though.
YOU ARE amazing I just saw the hole class thank you very much and I hope to see more class by you
NOTE: I well go back to see and do !
I watched your class on Kelby Training and loved it! One question and a request…
Q: In the Kelby Training class you gave us your camera setting, but you did not tell us what power setting you used for your strobe. What power setting did you use? I mostly use speed lights, even in the studio. Can you give me some idea what strobe settings to use?
Request: I live in Lightroom 3. There is a new software product by OnOne Software called Perfect Layers that will now give us the ability to use Layers in LR. It is currently a free beta. Can you please check it out and let me know your thoughts on this new product? They are accepting feedback on the product and if you give them your suggestions for enhancements, and they implement your suggestions, it would be great.
Thanks for everything Calvin. Now that I see your amazing work, I will be following your blog closely.

Hi
Sorry i dont use lightroom. You have to ask Matt or Scott
About the settings of the stobes. It sounds crazy but thats not so important. Cause when you choose a other fstop then me, have a other model, other distance to the model you have to change the power.
I was shooting with f11 i guess. So the power was f11

Hi Calvin!!
I just watched the class, and I think it was really great!!
I love the way you explain things, you´re funny and explains very well!
your English is getting very good, I´m very Impressed!
But most of all I am very impressed by the result and the easy way you get there!
Now I am going out to catch some textures.
hope to see more stuffs from you soon.
thanks for sharing!
Hey Calvin! I managed to catch a few minutes of your class today and it looked really good. I think a lot of people will really enjoy some of the tips in there. I want to watch it all now!
Brodie.
Great job Calvin!
Also great job by kelbytraining. I have been with them for several years now and I have to say, that their production quality has really improved a lot.
I got a couple of questions:
1. In the past you talk about using a 3-light setup to shoot. Would you say that works better than the 1 light setup you did in this vid?
2. What about natural light? Without any strobes or speedlights, can you still get the “Calvin style” just as good?
cheers,
-khanar
Thank you Khanar
For my kind of style i need lights from a strobe.
Available light is great but not perfekt for me.
I ll post a picture tomorrow here what is done with available light.
If i have three lights i can create a other look. Thats another class what you can see soon on kelbytraining

CALVIN,
I watched the complete Video yesterday.
fantastic content, expertly presented and
somewhat entertaining. I love you style. thank you for sharing.
Just watched your kelby training movie. Love the way you make it say simple and relaxed. Such amazing results with only one light source. I have always been to afraid to try a composite until I saw your movie. I’m excited about trying it now. Thank you!
Hey guys…. i am so happy about your feedback.

Hi Calvin
Congrats with your Kelbytraining debut!
I enjoyed watching it. I am a long time fan of your work and retouching secrets and I own your DVD tutorials.
Great job.
One question comes to mind: Your softlight blendingmode technique that makes it so easy to blend in new backgrounds only works when you shoot on a grey background. Correct?
So if you use a white background is there trick that makes it possible to use the same blending mode technique?
Hi
If you shoot on grey use the blendmode multiply. I explain that on a other training what is coming soon on kelbytraining i guess.

Great class Calvin. Savage makes many shades of gray seamless paper. Which is the one you like the best?
Just finished your tutorial at Kelby on line training and have to say that you explain everything very well. I will change the way I do layers in my composites. Your way is easier and quicker.
Hi all

Thats what i prefer

Hi Calvin!
I Just finished your dvd “Calvinize,
The wrong place for pure photography”

http://www.myspace.com/amaranthemetal
Now it´s time to watch the kelby-training
video “Quick Composites From Photo to Finish”!
Best,
Magnus
Hi Magnus
You have in photoshop many adjustment layers to turn a picture into a blue one.
I dont think the color is the key for this great look. Its much much more
lg calvin
Thanx for your answer!
But what is the key for this great look?
Any suggestions or directions?
Best,
Magnus
Many little things Magnus
- lighting
- compositing
- color manipulation
- kontrast
etc.
